TR6 TR6 rear hub and trailing arm spares advice

Hello,

I like to keep spares of parts I know will most likely wear out so that I do not have much down time. Many times good deals on spare parts have saved me from the price of expensive repairs. I admit it is easy to get carried away with this idea. I frequently see rebuilt rear hubs and trailing arms for sale on the internet. Is it worth it to get spares for these four parts? I know what to look for in the trailing arms (mainly that the studs are not stripped), but how do I know if a rear hub has been rebuilt correctly? What are reasonable prices for these parts?

Ok, I'm prejudiced. But unless it's from a well-known vendor who oversaw the rebuilding themselves; IMO the only safe assumption is that a "rebuilt" component is, at best, a core for rebuilding.

For example, there was the "rebuilt" Stag steering rack that had no power assist once I got it installed ... control valve was improperly assembled. Or the "rebuilt" TR3 starter (that I bought as a core anyway), that turned out to be full of blast media! Or the rebuilt TR3 wiper motor that looked beautiful with it's fresh powder coat, but was missing one of the brushes. Possibly the sellers were not being dishonest, they were simply unaware of the problems. But I no longer assume anything like that is actually in good shape unless I can verify it myself. With rear hubs, that may not be an option.

Here's a shot of the pinion head bearing from my "rebuilt" Stag differential (which turned out to actually be from a 2.5PI Estate).
