TR6 TR6 Optimum door gaps?

What is the consensus for optimum door gaps? Front, back, and bottom.

This is what I got:
Front 5/16, back and bottom 1/4"

Mine are a bit more than that, and no, I do not have a rotten frame to make the body sag in the middle. I noticed that when I cut out my floorboards that there were body shims on one side but not the other, all original. Like the TR2-3, the TR6 was never a perfect fit on the frame and shims were needed to "correct" body alignment. I have considered lifting my body and reshimming but don't want the hassle. But your original guesstimate is pretty darn close to ideal, the greater distance in the front needed for hinging. I remember when my paint guy reinstalled my doors, he closed the gap on the front too much and bent the sheet metal.

Bill, I did the same thing 2 days after installing my newly painted new door skins. Still erks me every time I see the paint chip in the front fender.

Your gaps look pretty good. I wouldn't mess with them as long as the doors shut and latch cleanly.

For an original factory fit all 3 numbers should be unequal.

Your fit is so good it's practically a convulsion.

My doors touch at the bottom rear corner.

Getting them to where they look good is no easy task, but with patience and a good partner you should be able to get them set in 4 or 5 hours....lol

Well..................

For me that means: on jacks for 3 or 4 weeks
and a cash outlay of at least $1,200+.
I can live for a while with crooked doors.

I thought the words "Triumph" and "Door Gaps" and "Optimum" where not supposed to be used in close proximity to each other?

rear door gaps are to be wider at the top and narrower at the bottom. yours look great. front are to be even from top to bottom. i was at a very informative frame and body fitting seminar at TRF a few rears ago at their summer party.
