I got a set of knobs for the heater, fan, choke etc on ebay, they looked really good but the hexigon holes are too big and wont stay on the shafts, the seller wont respond back to me asking for my money back,

buyer bewared on knobs on ebay

Kind of like the seller who won't respond about the rheostat that is way too short to fit the TR6 and won't respond, even though he advertises that it fits a TR6.

Buyer beware of NEW TR6 rheostats on eBay.

You may already know this but if you paid with paypal you can start a case against the seller to get a full refund. You will just need to return the parts using a tracking number.

Ebay really sides with the buyer now, you should be able to get a 100% refund and seller will get his parts back.

Thank you Tim, I will give that a try!! If I didn't let this lapse too long, which would be my on fault for procrastinating about taking the dash out.

well I got a reply and was told I could send the knobs back he said I ordered the wrong knobs his listing was 68-69 year car but TRF says 68 to 71 are all the same knob, so who is right? he said he would replace for the correct size

The knobs are all the same size...IIRC... just different markings.
Think I still see smoke

:iagree:

Note that there is supposed to be a retaining pin that actually holds the knob in place. The hole isn't supposed to fit the shaft all that tightly (although most of them do, since the plastic shrinks over time).

I have not measured them but the holes are very big and sloppy fit and the pin wouldnt hold it in place

Then IMO they are simply not TR6 knobs (or are defective).

my original knobs measure 0.275 from one side to the opposite side of the hole, since its not round but 6 sided, the ones I purchased measured 0.300, to big!
my heater knob kept pulling off but I drilled the pin hole out the next size up and I fixed my problem, the pin locks the knob on now. so I will stick with the old ones and ship the new ones that are not made correctly back
