TR6 TR6 Front Spring Height??

While waiting for the bypass diaphragm for the carbs, I decided to install the new front springs.
I got the left side out and I have a bit of a surprise. The spring that was installed measures right at 10 inches in height. The replacement spring which is suppose to be a stock height is only 9 1/4 inches tall.
What is the stock height for a 1974 TR6?
I ordered the matching set for the front to be the same as the rears. When I replaced the rears the new springs were taller than the old, which makes sense.
I was surprised to see the old fronts taller than the new ones.
I either have a non stock set installed by the DPO or I was sent the wrong ones when I ordered them. Perhaps they sent me ones that lower the car an inch.

Anyway if someone knows the stock height, I will be able to know the answer before Monday, when I can call my parts source.

Thanks

Well I got my answer in a way.
The new springs are shorter than original ones unless the original springs are really collapsed.
The new springs are made with thicker cross section for the spring and are stiffer,so they don't need to be as tall because they won't compress as much.
They are suppose to ride the same. We will see!
I hope to get them in tonight and get my carb parts Tuesday and be back on the road Wednesday I hope.

Mark if your going thru the trouble of replacing the springs why not just go to the shorter ones. There really isn't that much difference.
I know it's to late now.

Norton47, how did you make out with your new springs? I'm still in a quandary about what springs to buy and while doing a search on the topic I came across this thread. I am fairly certain I will stay stock up front. However, I'm thinking about going with the perfromance springs from TRF in the rear. Reason being is I upgraded my front sway bar to 7/8 (TRF) and think that going with a stiffer rear spring might be a good balance. Since the larger front sway bar will likely lessen body roll I thought the stiffer rear springs would do the same.
