TR4/4A TR4A Stock AM Transistor Radio Fuse Size?

Anyone know the recommended fuse size for the basic stock transitor AM radio from back in the day?

Might vary by radio, but my SAMS shows that a model 6SMTR, 7SMTR or 8BTR radio takes an AGA 5 fuse.

The manual I have for the Bendix 5BTRP also list a AGA-5.

Short little things, those AGA5 fuses!

Yup, the AGA fuses are only 5/8" long, instead of the more common (in cars anyway) 1-1/4" AGC series.

But I see where Bussman sells an in-line fuse holder that they claim will accommodate both AGA and AGC (as well as many other 1/4" diameter glass fuses), so it's at least possible they will fit in the radio fuse holder. The holder had crumbled on the only vintage Triumph (actually British Leyland) radio I have, so I don't know what it looked like originally.

FWIW here's another version of the 5 button Triumph Radio.
On the other side is stamped 5SMTR 3927 and also faint in ink 524 181.
Rather than a switch it has the button deal for + -.
Has made music for me, just not at the moment.

I looked at the old thread, I have a mid sixties Triumph radio that works, missing the knobs, has the chrome face plate, but it is pitted. If someone needs it for parts or has a non working radio they want to swap the knobs and such off of let me know, not free, but less than the ebay sellers want for these these days.

Perhaps someone can offer a comment about these two chrome radio face plates.

I have never known which came with my TR 67 radio bought 35 years ago. Both seem to fit well. From the front both are almost alike:
1. one has a continuous outer perimeter and a C shape ridge on the two front half cut outs where the two radio shafts come thru. It also has a smooth back and the word TOP.
2. the second plate has a non continuos outer perimeter, with a break on the top two corners only ( 1/8 in. gap )ner the mounting cut outs. It has no C shape ridge , just smooth. Its back is not smooth ( difficult to describe )and with the words/numbers: TOP, 125009-005\006, T 906.

Once I confirm which is proper for this radio I will give away the surplus plate to interested party.

Your radio is a 6BTR like mine (although your second group of numbers is different) so can you tell from the picture I posted of my radio in the linked thread which one of your faceplates is the same as mine?

Do you have chrome buttons and knobs as well?

Yes , I do have two chrome buttons and one chrome knob. I am missing one knob. From your picture I see that the plate is the same as I listed as number one... it has a continuos perimeter. I wonder if anyone could use my other chrome face plate, the one with all the writing.
