Just got back from a round trip to Denver.Thoughts:
Had Car1 slip on the trailer (neglected to check tie-down
straps often enough -also,were cheap straps from Harbor Frieght.Had one break).
While on the return trip, had a wheel bearing failure on I80,about 30 miles East of Grand Junction,Colorado,& another about 20 miles out of Reno,Nevada.
Then I had a tire blow just out of Susanville,Ca.
What I've learned is to have the equipment checked before
leaving.I should have had the wheel bearings & tire pressure checked before leaving home.I can't blame anyone
but myself.

Glad you made it back...when I tow, I worry about all those things - have only had 1 tie down failure & it was because I let the other guy tie the car down on my trailer

I've always been accused of being too anal about this stuff... but aside from an occasional flat tire, I've been lucky. Pro'lly comes from a lifetime of draggin' cars 'n boats around on trailers, seein' what CAN happen even if you're keeping up with PM.
