Do they exist? Let me explain.

My wife has attended "jewelry parties" and "Pampered Chef" parties, and she always buys some over priced stuff because it was a "special" and "it would be rude not to purchase anything at a friend's party".

So, I need one of my buddies to invite me to a "Snap-on tool party".

rant over...
 
I'd go to a tool party if the the Ridgid Tool calendar girls were there.
 
I think some intrepid Snap-On truck owner oughta TRY a thing like this! I'd even consider hosting it here at th' hovel.

I've long thought an intrepid Snap-On truck owner ought to park at more car shows and cruise nights
 
I have waited a long time for someone to respond to this thread.Having been in the mobile automotive tool business for 36 years,the idea has been tossed around for years.Men and women are very different social animals. Women like to get together and share. Men get together and compare. The deciding factor will always be money or skill in the equasion.Studies have shown that men will have no problem attending parties,eating the food,drinking the beer,maybe even enjoying the entertainment,and not purchasing a $5 item,because they can get it elsewhere cheaper. That's why stag parties sell tickets before and dont ask for a contribution after it's over.
What's the best beer in the world? Free Beer!

It is the bundling and discounts at the jewelry party that gets the women to buy. Not to mention the incentive gifts and pricing for the hostess.

I agree that it probably would not work for men, but my wife would certainly spend less at such parties if she thought I might spend an equal amount at the next tool party. :wink:
 
If nothing else, It would give the regular Joe insight as to how much money a professional technician has sitting in the tool box they are required to have to be able to do their job.
 
And the neighbors the answer as to why they can never <span style="font-style: italic">borrow</span> tools. :wink:
 
Hey Doc. Hitting the nail on the head. Im done with lending tools to neighbors. On one side this clown has had my old mitre saw for 10 months and a claw hammer while he's building his house. On my other side,one of my battery chargers has been on trickle charge for 2 weeks and he's a retired garage mechanic. Im sick of these moochers. Who the H-ll borrows a claw hammer? Im done. The guy up the street borrowed a ladder and I had to go track it down. Lucky me. He dropped of a heart attack a week later.
 
Sort of a tool party. There is some company, can't recall the name, that shows up in towns for a day or so with huge trailers selling tools at firehouses etc. Some tools are Ok most seem cheap quality.
 
Makita did a similar thing at the local Home Depot parking lot here a few weeks back. I wasn't inclined to spend any money for those tools, tho.
 
I think is a very cool idea, I'm going to pitch it at our British car club meeting tommorow night. I have a tool truck vendor in mind, he's sells very nice, yet more affortable tool options when compared to say, Snap-On, or Mac. I think this would make for a different, but fun car club tech session.

There are a few of them
Homier and Cummings both frequent this area. Very much just traveling Harbor Freight. Cummings has a lot of refurbished and low-end power tools in the mix too.

Homier and Cummings- sell stuff cheap but not of the best quality. It's OK if the neglige your significant other buys for top dollar get ripped up one night- but if the cordless tool you just bought gives up the ghost after 1 week it is not really a good deal.
