MGB This weeks werd question regarding steering racks.

My 1977 B does not have a place to put corn head greese in. i.e. no zerk or hole that should be a place for a zerk.

However just by turning the wheel with the front end in the air assures me that it is dry.

So another of those life time lube points did not last a life time.

Any one know what the acceptable solution is?

This is how I've done mine:

Thank you for that Mickey. Put a bit of lub on all the front end suspension bits the other day, made it a bit easer to steer but still rattle noisy on bump. Not sure but think it might be time to renew all the suspension bushings, comment?

Have my summer roof on , works very well. Engine will not idle less than 1000 rpm if my gage is correct. But sounds happy and content there. Wow does this thing have an rumble at idle. Should impress all the folks at the drive in, lol. Temp runs about 1/4 on low side. which is fine. Oil pressure is 50 cold and about 30 when at running temp. Comment?
Been putting a drop of oil on anything that moves. Off to get some 90 oil for steering rack.

Regarding front end rattle, it may be the square rubber crossmember pads - notorious for perishing.

Idle RPM sounds about right; you might want to double-check that with a timing light/rev counter to be sure. Oil pressure sounds fine, especially for the V6. Temperature range is much greater with these engines than what we're used to.
