Re: This ones for you Dale

If I were starting over, it would be a great ride to start with. However, I am now entering the twilight of my repair/rebuild/replace phase and entering a new dawn of actual driving phase, so the pleasant memories of both Johnstown and TR6 restorations are behind me now.

I hope..................

Paul, Banjo, Mickey, Tony, Frank et all:

Honest opinion requested here guys.

You guys know the extent and depth of my 2 1/2 year
restoration of the 69TR6 Crypt Car. Basically, everything
replaced except the long block engine and tranny. Also
that it still breaks down all the time and is unreliable.

I have inspected the blue TR6 selling on E-Bay, located in
Cauguas, PR. Other than the triple carbs and MAYBE
the newer long block and tranny, I have a better car.

Would it be worth it to me to buy the blue TR6 for the
newer engine and tranny and keep the rest of car for spare parts?
Would I end up with a reliable, daily driver?

Or should I keep wacking away at the Crypt Car working
toward reliability? All opinions welcome!

Refresher on what my 69TR now looks like:

Where would you put it, Dale? :jester:

Honestly, I think you'd be asking for trouble. Keep on keepin' on with Crypty/Amos.

Crypty is looking pretty good there, Dale - I like the driving lights you added. Keep in mind the adage "better the devil you know than the devil you don't". I suspect those webers would be an altogether unknown devil for the new buyer.

Dale: I say whack on. You could end up double-whacking,
if you know what I mean.

Dale, don't quit on Amos. It occurs to me that you are at a point like the person who has been playing a slot machine for some time and then walks away only to have the very next player insert a coin and win the jackpot.

Leave well enough alone. Your car is becoming more relaible by the day and soon you'll be driving daily.

Oh, just for the record, you don't need the issues that can come with triple Webers.
