Yes, Yuma AZ is a LONG 2200mile drive to my new home outside of Savannah, GA, but it was just TOO GOOD of a deal to turn down!
-I did a similar trip when I picked up my BugEye Vintage Racer near SanFrancisco... That one had been stored inside the garage of the former owner's widow for 30+ years & came with a huge stash of spares (5 spare engines, 6 trannys, a BugEye Hood assy, engine hoist, tools, jack-stands, unmachined head castings, dozens of 1-off prototype cams, several radiators, a couple of windshield assys, and 100's of boxes of new parts. Pistons, bearings, con rods, carbs, rear ends, brakes, shocks, etc. etc.. Enuf stuff to nearly fill a 16' moving truck! She even gave me a box of old racing photos & the trophies that the car/driver had won from races all across the US in the early 70's).
-I did another similar trip when I picked up my TR GT-6 Racer & a GT-6 parts car up in Indiana.
-The trip from AZ will take me 3-4 days, but it'll be a good excuse to visit my buddy in Scottsdale, another in Fort Worth, etc...
This '66 will make a nice cheap street cruiser for now....
"Cheers!"
