Bob Girvin said something especially interesting when I interviewed him about his Chrylser Hemi-powered Allard GT. He said: "If it's a muffled event, I don't go." Hmmmmm. Makes sense. It's gotta be really hard to sneak this monster past a decibel meter. Check it out!

Cool, I'm in the video, my red with yellow cage Spitfire gets passed in the first 40 seconds ( no big surprise there). I wondered why they put this car in the same class as Spits, MGBs and Fiats. It can't be that much fun with no one to really race against. If I remember he asked to be moved up a class later in the weekend.

Ya, I thought that was your Spit Mike. If you haven't seen the whole Lime Rock episode, I think Bob did move up because he has a great dice with James Freeman in his '59 Aston Martin DB4GT.

And Bob's a great guy....he and I have been friends for the last few years.

If any of you are cyclist's you may be familiar with the Girvin Fork: Bob invented it.

Paul and Darry Bova's 1959 Turner Sports Mk1 Racecar

Today also seems like an especially good day to remember this car's creator: Jack Turner (April 1, 1916 - March 7, 2011.)

On the one hand, the Turner Mk1 shares quite a lot of (Austin A35) parts with its rival - the Austin Healey Sprite Mk1 - but I think it's fascinating how different the two designs are!
