The Tunebug is ready!

Just got a call from the mechanic that's been working on the Tunebug, and he said it's ready to go. Woohoo!

He used my new (Payen) gasket set and got the intake/header sealed up properly. He also caught a leaking radiator hose and frayed accelerator cable (both replaced). I'm going to try and get down to the city tonight and pick it up.

Weather this weekend is supposed to be fantastic, so we'll be on the road.

Gesh Drew, and it is getteing cold already in your neck of the woods. Oh well next summer will be along and with all the parts together now you will have a bit more room in your garage.

Supposed to be beautiful this weekend, though. Still have driving weather into early November usually, just depends on the year.

A friend from work is bringing me down to the city after work today, so I'll be bringing the car home tonight.

Well, I got the car home safe and sound. The pull up Parley's Canyon went pretty well. Car got hot but didn't overheat (it's a wicked and unavoidable freeway section up a long, steep incline -- 2500' elevation gain --up to 7000'-- with lots of freeway traffic).

I'm not entirely convinced that the problem is solved, but I'll drive it a bit more over the next week and make sure. Good to have the car home, though.

Just drive it.
Carbon will build up and quiet it down.
Works sometimes, anyway.

NOW, get a mirror and a light, and look under and around the flange on the header at the head....do you see any black?

Like, an improper weld?
Don't go wiping it with your pinkies first, just look.

Parley's Canyon IS a heck of climb. I hope you don't have to do that one very often. IIRC we came up it in 3rd gear at about 40 mph in the truck lane. It's just wicked.
