May-June 2005 Jaguar Journal reported in Jaguar Tech Corner that "Jaguar reports that the ABS pump motor relay must be replaced on all models up to 1992 if the ABS combined pressure warning switch is replaced. When this switch fails, a number of things may occur. Pump motor may run nonstop or not at all. Brake warning light or the ABS warning lights or both may come on. Fault code 61 may be present - even though braking may be normal. Part numbers are as follows: Combined pressure warning - XJS up to VIN 165791(JLM 1465) XJS from VIN 165791 (JLM 1908) Sedans JLM 1908. Relay (DAC 4506)."
I have a 90 XJS conv. that is now having this problem. In my case, the brake warning light comes on when I make a right turn and goes off after a left turn or two minutes driving straight. Now this has become a brake warning light on all the time. Braking seems normal, but I don't trust the switch won't shut off the pump.
XKs Unlimited told me that the JLM 1465 switch is no longer available. They also told me that Jaguar had a repair kit that contained both the switch and relay that is also no longer available.
Anyone know a source for the switch? The relay is still available.
