Stromberg bypass issues

By now I'm sure all issues have surfaced several times but I am unable to locate this issue on previous postings.
I have just replaced the diaphragms in my CD carb bypass assembly units as I had issues with the RPMs sticking at 1400 every time I took my foot off the gas until I pulled out the choke and relaesed it. Having just replaced the diaphragms this issue no longer exists as my RPMs are now at a minimum of 2000!
Obviously I am no carb expert, either food or car, so what is it that I am missing?

Also, be certain that you used the correct gasket between the carb body and the bypass valve. Some of the many gaskets leave a passage open between the 2 holes. This creates a constant open idle port.You want the 2 holes separated, so that the valve opens the passage when desired. I have no earthly idea what the other gaskets are for, I have never seen them used.

I think the kit manufacturers like to include extra stuff just to confuse us and keep us guessing... My SU kits included a couple of things that I never could figure out where they were supposed to go.
