It's been three years today that we lost Frank Clarici, known as "Spritenut" on BCF. Frank was a great guy, known to Spridget guys and girls around the world for his Sprite knowledge, honesty, hatred of offshore parts forged over dung-fired grilles, sense of humor, his bitza creation known as "Pieces" and willingness to do anything to help out a Spridget enthusiast. He touched a lot of people in this hobby,

Rick, thanks for posting this.
Frank was a great guy and I miss him.
I just try and remember to carry on a little bit as he would, if I see a Spridget owner who needs something I try and get it to him / her - even if they haven't asked.
I know many here and elsewhere who do the same, it makes the Sprite & Midget "club" what it is - a lot of generous Spridget owners looking for a chance to help out when anyone needs it.

Frank gave me my first bit of advice on bringing Bugsy I back to life. I always try to remember to help pay it forward in the example Frank set year after year. I never made it to the 50th at Lake if the Ozarks and as a result missed meeting Frank. New folks to this forum can look hear as well as the autoX Spridgets forum for stories about N.O.S.H.I.T. events that Frank organized, 20-25 people flying into CA for the Buster Cluster to put together the BE Buster and his bride honeymooned in for their wedding anniversary, transporting the Holy Sprite across the country for on Spridget member to another and organizing a donation of parts for the restoration of the BE as a retirement gift for his parish priest, and too many more to remember. We miss you Frank.

Got to meet Frank at LoTO and he seemed a truly great guy. Strange the twist's and turn's of fate. As Jim reminded....pay it forward!

Kurt.

Three years ago I sold a first year Bugeye to Frank. It was actually number eight hundred and something. I had had that car almost forty years, and the engine was out, the frame was really rusted badly, etc. When Frank showed up with his trailer I asked him if he had a winch, and he said "can't we just drive it onto the trailer?" That was my first experience with Frank's humor. I couldn't believe it when he passed a few weeks later. What a loss. I've often wondered what happened to that Bugeye...
