Hi all, new to the forum . I was wondering if anybody had the original specs/measurments for the rubber leaf spacers for a Spit MK3 1500? of course i have the sagging rear end and i remember seeing somewhere that a guy had made some new spacers from aluminum or delrin (pretty sure it was delrin) and didnt have to get a new spring. Thanks ahead of time.

The buttons are for sale (made from Teflon) on eBay. However, I chose to make my own from Delrin.

For the basic info, see the link below:
https://www.triumphspitfire.nl/rearspringpads.html

I changed the dimensions shown on the web site above. The 19mm small diameter is too large. I made my buttons about 1mm smaller. Both height dimensions seemed too large to me. The 3mm height of the small boss is WAY too tall. The recess in the spring is about 1.5mm deep so that's how tall I made mine. The 5mm height of the large diameter boss controls how high the car will sit. I made mine about 3.5mm tall.

A final change I made was to make a through-hole on center about 6mm in diameter. I countersunk both sides of the hole. When installing the buttons I degreased the spots on the springs where the buttons go and applied a dollop of RTV to the springs. The RTV filled both sides of the countersunk button hole to create little "knobs" to hold the buttons in place. After 6 months the car still sits level and rides well.

Teflon will eventually "flow" from being under constant pressure, the delrin will not.

I agree. The parts you will find on eBay are made from Teflon. I made my parts from Delrin.

The countersunk hole and silicon is a great idea, can I use it when I make mine?
