Well, the speedo looks like the ones in the Mini 1000's, except the 120MPH is a bit ambitious for it. Plus, the Tach wasn't really an option, and the rev range is wrong, so not a Mini
The Tach RPM is too low for any MG, TR, or TVR that I know of, as most of them ware quite high revving. So these are probably out.
Maybe Healy or Jag? Larger engines at lower revs in some models, and 120MPH speedo seems spot on for these.
Not rare by any stretch because they appear to be for a late TR4 or any TR4A. These will match the "flat glass" minor gauges on those two models. Apparently some PO has painted over the chome trim.

Nope, 5k was factory redline for all TR2-6. They'll run faster, but not for long.
Might nice job of painting those trim rings, if that is what happened. But some Smith's instruments came that way (my early Stag has black rings, as I believe did some later TR6 & Spitfire) so I'm wondering if perhaps these were for something else.
He mentions that the trim rings have imperfections so I wonder if someone swapped them out. You are right that the TR250/TR6 and later Spitfires had black trim rings but different gauges.
Yes, it is a 65 TR4A IRS. I am the second owner. PO bought it new & drove it till it died in 74. parked it in a barn & you know the rest. I have had her since 99 & have been spending money on the restoration ever since. Wouldn't have it any other way.
