so along with a few other members here I decided to get a matching tach & gps speedo from speedhut.
I bought the recommended 3 3/8" size legacy guages for my '72 mgb.
I was getting ready to install them today, when I noticed on a test fitting....they don't fit in the hole. It's really close, maybe 1/8" off, but they won't go in.
my friend recommends using a dremel and very cautiously slicing into the metal backing of the dash just a little and making a cut every 1/4 inch or so, then gently pushing the cut parts inward to make room for the guages.
does that sound like the best option?
I'd initially thought to use a file and just file away until they fit but that could get ugly and take forever.
