My original phillips headed screws (two per front drum)have gotten pretty chewed up over the years, so went looking for a replacement, and was completely unable to find a fine thread equivalent locally.
I ordered replacements from AH Spares but the original screws are apparently not available and they offer a "screw - half shaft retaining" from the big Healeys as a substitute.
The old screws are a bit less than 7/16 inches long; the new ones are a bit longer at a hair less than half an inch long. I've put them in and there's no interference.
However, the tapered head on the original does not extend down to the threads (as the replacement and most machine screws do), but is machined off such that the tapered slope ends at a vertical cut, which drops down to the threaded portion.
Take care of your old screws; and have a look at the base where the threaded portion hits the taper to see what I've tried to describe.
