side cover gasket

What is the choice on sealing the side cover gasket? I was thinking fo doing one side with non drying sealer so I can inspect the tappets and push rods. Any reason not to. Does any one seal the bolts at the plates. I've never seen any leak. Its winter and I'm using all the stuff I got when I padded my order with Moss to get the discounts.
Thanks,
TH

Well TH, since I have never removed mine since first installed I see no reason not to seal it up tight, thus assuring that you do not get an oil leak there.--Fwiw--Keoke
