She runs! She won't stop running!

OK - back to the '66 TR4a. Got all the stray wiring pulled out and got her back to stock wiring except for the aftermarket ignition switch.

So the good news is that she start, bad news is that she won't shut off. Grin.

Wiring into the control box looks OK, ditto to the starter solenoid. That leaves the ignition switch, or at least leaves the ignition switch to my sleep deprived brain.

Aftermarket switch;

1) ACC - nothing
2) BAT - brown/blue
3) IGN - looks white but not through all the overspray yet (ha)

4) Center post - white/red

Anyone with experience here to pass along?

So, turn the key off, check the white wire behind the switch. If that is why the engine won't stop, there will still be 12v on the wire.

Now disconnect the wire from the switch. If the wire is still hot, there is a problem somewhere else.

If the switch terminal is still hot, then either the switch is wired wrong, or is defective. Or possibly you aren't turning the key to the 'Off' position; sometimes it's hard to tell.

Hi Randall - the I do have 12v at just one of the three white wires that are connected together in the picture with the the key in the off position and then (of course) with the key removed.

With the wires removed the switch no longer has power.

Checked the fuse box wiring and sure enough on a closer look it was off, so fixed that and all is well now.
