The last time I purchased parts for my BJ8 was the early 1980s. I dont want start a fight about my vendor is better than your vendor; however when I posted about some furflex a couple of weeks ago I was informed of other vendors I didnt even know existed that sold superior products( constructed more like the original ); that got me thinking.... I now want to purchase splined hubs ( something that has a bit of a safety factor for my family ) I have gone to the catalogs of the two bigger vendors that I used way back when and see a fairly substantial difference in price. As anyone I want the best I can get for safety but how in the world can someone be sure he is getting the best bang for the buck? By that I mean possible superior construction for less money. Parts werent made in places like China and the materials were more like the the original equipment back then. The manufacturing world has changed quite a bit in 30 years!!I know that sometimes technology can make better products (such as rust fighting and heat fighting products) but for hard parts it can be different and the manufactuer is trying to cut costs on a small market. I try to do as much reasearch as possible but one can get paranoid about buying.
