Hi Everyone,
I thought I would share my drawing of Austin Healey S. U. HD8 Carburetors that made for the Art and Craft show at Enclave 2015. I also made prints of the drawing, which is limit to an edition of 50. If interested you can contact me. I drew inspiration for Ausmhly and his beautiful car. My BJ8 just went under a three year restoration a year and a half ago, still working out the bugs a year later and probably a life time.

I forgot to mention the bottom image is the print of the drawing. I use prismacolor pencils( a brand of color pencils) to do the drawing of the carburetors and 3000 emblem.

Wow, great drawing!
I went to RISD and some of my pictures were of chrome items and drawing white objects on white backgrounds.

Is this the photo you drew from?

I see a couple things different. Center ball end, yours faces left, mine right.
2 screws that hold the clamps around the center fuel line, yours slots mine philips.
Some other items different. Really really nice drawing!

PS. I should have said... OMG, I did a drawing of a set of HD8's as a homework assignment when attending RISD. Here it is!

Dmorris1, your drawing looks better then the reall thing!
So, when you're at your next car show and someone says, wow your carbs look great, you can comment...thanks, but take a look at these, they look even better. Show the drawing.

Your engine compartment looks like mine, same valve cover painted green too, chrome acorns, etc.

Thanks, Great complement coming from you. I been drawing all my life. I'm currently an art professor teaching drawing and printmaking. Usually don't do car related artwork, but got totally obsessed with the Healey. Had one one I was a teenager, along story. I work with in a shop that let me work alongside of them. Part time job for three years, did about everything on the car. I like you took everything apart more then once sanded ,buffed and polished the carburetors. They where so beautiful, that I did a color pencil drawing of them working for the real carbs and photo. Over two weeks spent of the drawing, eight hours a day. The car is driver, which I try to drive everyday. Just drove it to the Enclave at Gettsyburg, Pennsylvania total miles 1300. Having a show of my drawings in New York in December.
Best,
David

Our engine compartment look alike too. Well except you can see that my engine is bigger, lol
