You mean the over-riders? I guess thats pretty much the only thing it could be right, although I've never heard of TR6's being divided that way. Usually it's just early and late TR6, at least at all the Brit shows I've been to.

That's what happens when you have a MGB guy do the award categories!!!

Same list has an "MGB Roadster Roadster, Rubber Bumper". Guess they wanted us to know it was a roadster.

So Sammy, how much time do you spend on washing and keeping the fleet tidied-up?

My 2 cents...

It's not uncommon for there to be 2 classes of TR6's. Early and late. 69-73 and 74-76. Using the general classification of rubber bumper is understood by more people than the other descriptions. Keep in mind that a lot of people who attend these shows are not aficionados.

The same list includes MGBGT. They need to differentiate between the GT and the convertible.

It would be interesting to see the outcome if a 2500M and a 3000S showed up.

Based on the number of awards this appears to be a large show. Which means someone put in some long hours to pull it all together. MGB guy or otherwise their efforts often go unnoticed and unappreciated.

Personally I'll take a large show over a small one any day. A recent show in Virginia lumped all foreign cars together. The report I heard was that a '73 Toyota Corona took top honors.

It's probably because some of the volunteers on registration, like my wife for example, may not know the year the "rubber chunks" appeared was 1974, so sometimes if they are too busy to ask they got cars in the wrong category.
Then if the guy has a really nice car and feels he should have got an award he complains.
We had 1030 cars altogether, down 5 from last year, 985 registered, the rest just parked and enjoyed the day, I suppose. We had 130 volunteers to set up the field the day before, take money at the entrance, direct parking, register the cars, sell club memberships, and tidy up the park afterwards.
Anyway it is a big event, 4758 individuals voted on the cars, there were 75 rubber bumper MGBs, the biggest class, 55 late TR6 and 41 early, 39 "squaretail Spitfires.
If you won one of those classes you have a nice car!
Simon.

Hey Simon, I've always wondered roughly how many votes does it take to win one of those huge classes, theres so many cars I can't see how any car could get more than 5 or 6 votes.
And to verify your toughts about the rubber bumper class...when I went up with a 1980 MGB the lady asked if it was rubber bumper or chrome bumper right away, then assigned the class based on that.
