Hi, I'm new to the MGB forums. I recently aquired a 1980 MGB as a project. The exterior is not in bad condition at all (little rust), and is road worthy.
She runs decent
and I'm currently working on cosmetic restorations... tearing out the moldy carpet, replacing bulbs/ switches, broken window winders, oiling hinges, fixing speakers, and such. This weekend I'm giving it her first bath... and was wondering how I can restore the color to the hardtop?
I THOUGHT it was the original hardtop, but after going thru the forums.. it may be a 'SnugTop'. The top, while hard like fiberglass, has a vinyl grain look.
Its a 1980 LE MGB (only came in black). The top is in great condition, but the black color is washed out. Would it be a good idea to use vinyl dye? Or rattle-can spray paint?
I've tried ArmorAll, but that only looked good for a day or so.
Thanks,
Sam
