Restoration up-date and questions
Hi all,
My restoration is progressing nicely. The body rust has been repaired and the car has been painted. I blindly chose a color for the car and it turned out amazing, it's red with a touch of orange. Not quite as orange as the car was when I started though. I have begun reassembling the car and I came across two things (so far) that I need a little advice on.
How do you get the bottom windshield seal in? Do you have to remove the lower trim piece and slide it in or is there another way?
Also the kingpins. I have purchased new ones along with the rebuild kit for the front suspension. My question is do you always have to ream the bushing mount? The old kingpin has no noticable slop, and is actually quite tight. The car has 80,000 miles. All the rubber is bad, but I don't know if the kingpin is. I haven't taken it apart yet, but I will on Wednesday. Anything I should look for? Thanks in advance.
I'll try to post some pictures.
