Removing glass from 100 -4 windscreen assembly ???

Hey all,
Went to remove my cracked glass windscreen on my 100-4 this morning. Of course, easy to remove the entire assembly and you're left with the aluminum posts that are attached to the actual chrome frame that the glass fits in. DUMB question and cannot see what I am missing, but how do you get the chrome sides un-attached from the aluminum posts ? Took the two small screws at each top corner off and the chrome piece is loose at the bottom but seems to be well secured towards the top. Checked out the holes where the small post screws in where you attach the windshield security spring assembly but as far as I can tell, no set screw or anything at the bottom of that hole on the post. Anyone replace your glass recently ? Sure it will end up to be a simple solution but I'm sure missing it !
Thanks,
Mike

The screws that hold the chrome channels to the aluminum posts are hidden by the glass. Remove the glass and you'll see them inside the channels.

Well - turns out the previous owner used black silicone instead of rubber glazing so once I got the seal broken between the glass and silicone, the frame came off pretty easy.Of course now have a big mess of old silicone but can get that cleaned off and then reassemble everything. Like Bill said above, there are 3 or 4 screws that hold the aluminum post to the chrome frame so obviously you have to have the posts attached before you put the glass in with the top and bottom frames in place. Not like a BN6 windscreen where whole thing is assembled as a unit and then screwed to the actual windshield posts. I was trying to tackle this one like the BN6 and that would not work. Thanks to Bill for getting me going in the right direction !
Regards,
Mike

Yes, that's the drill. Be careful with the corner brackets which hold the chrome channels together. The screws and brackets tend to rust together. If you replace any of the screws watch their length. Too long and they'll crack the glass. You'll see what I mean when you get it apart.

Good advice about the length of the screws. The first time I fitted a new glass, the last turn of the last screw contacted the glass and it cracked! Ahghghghgh!

Got it back together and did not crack the glass or scratch the chrome frame !!!! Of course now I'm putting in the dreaded rubber seal at the bottom of the windshield but making slow progress and should have it done in a couple of hours. Thanks to all for their advice and again a big thanks to AH100M ( Bill Schmidt) for getting me going the correct way !
Regards,
Mike
