TR4/4A Recovering Tr4a seats w/ kits from moss or?

actually, what I am wondering is how the Vinyl quality is, I ordered the swatch sample but they only sent leather and the red leather swatch looks really dark red.
I was concerned that the door panels being vinyl and seats leather that they might not match as well as all vinyl kit
(panels and seats) so what does everyone think of the vinyl.
the reason is I want to get the order in before the sale ends.
also are any of these kits better than others?
Thanks

Moss is having their yearly upholstery sale right now and I'm also considering their kit but I will check out local shops for cost first. Doesn't seem that hard to install if you do one seat at a time (not that I've ever tried - so It's probably heck!) but I've heard locals shops can beat Moss prices so you might want to check yours too. Recovering seats is not that hard. Do one at a time as suggested. Replace the foams and diapragms while you're in there. I've found it easier to remove the back of the frame from the bottom of the frame at the hinge bolts. Cover each seperately. The bottom is very easy. Place a dry cleaner bag over the seat back foam before you slide the cover on. This makes it much easier. Get some spray adhesive and spray between the bag and the inside of the seat back to stick it into place once you've got it on. Moss is running a sale right now, so their prices are probably in line with most others for now. Usually they are a good bit higher. I got my seats from Prestige. I highly recommend them.

Recovering seats is far from a Professional job. I've recovered the seats in my Spitfire and MGBGT, neither of which was hard to do.

wow, 37 people looked at this posting and no one has used the seat or panel kits?
I guess everyone bought them from the roadster factory?

I used the Moss TR3A seat and panel kit and found it to be excellent... but not sure how that translates to their TR4A product.

Richard, I have the Moss kit on my 4A but it's all vinyl and I have the full panel kit only(no seats). I am impressed by the quality of construction of the panels. I am using Corbeau Classics for seats in the 4A.

Just ordered the seat kit for my 3A too from Moss (see below).
btw, if you email Ken Lamers [bscr@bscr.com], he'll save you 6% over the Moss sale prices and ship for free for all orders over $300. All other parts are 16% below Moss retail all-the-time. Tell him I sent you. nfi. PeterK

I got my panel kit from TRF a few years ago, and I was going to get the seat covers from Moss. However, when I was up there and looked at it it appeared that there was an ever so slight difference in the color (new tan), so I'll be getting the covers from TRF as well.

I got this little guide book from Vicky British on recovering seats, I think it was free actually, or at most a buck or two. It's tailored for their kit specifically, but they're all pretty similar. It shows you step by step instructions on how to refoam and recover the seats. As someone said, using a thin plastic bag over the foam to get the cover on easier is a good tip, I've heard that from a few people. My buddy did some MGB seats awhile ago and said they were a piece of cake, so I'm hoping TR6 seats will be similar.

I am hopeful someone cantell me how the Vinyl seat kits compare to the leather.
I know the leather is nice and thick but wondering how the Vinyl is and holds up.

Richard,
Sorry I can't offer direct experience with the Moss vinyl seat covers. I am however restoring my complete interior and am leaning towards the Prestige product line. Their leather seat covers are only a couple hundred dollars more than the vinyl alternative.
