rear wheel cylinders

I got a couple of rebuild kits for the rear wheel cylinders cause they were leaking. The passenger side cleaned up and went back together easy. The piston W/ the new rubber slide in and fit like a glove. It"s a Girling # 304180 (Dialoy 6)
The driver side was so tight I had to really wrestle and force the piston W/the new rubber to go in. It's a Girling # 64673305 (Dialoy 8) It's such a tight fit I don't think it's going to function right when I put it back on. So I think I'm going to take the new rubber off and put the old one back till I figure out which of the two cylinders is the wrong part for the car. They are both supposed to be the same part, aren't they?? Can anybody please help make sense of this for me?

Confused, Donny L

Yep Keoke, I'm frugal too. I ordered one new cylinder and some new clips for holding it in. Turns out it was missin a spring clip. No wonder that first one came out W/ no sweat at all. The other side took quite a bit of tinkering and a bit o'cussin'

Sent mine to White Post Restoration.. Came back in a hermetically sealed package. 3 day turnaround...At the time the price was only slightly higher than a rebuild kit!

Donny. I have a '63 BJ7 and I am doing a rear drum brake rebuild job and I have the 304180 Girling wheel cylinder. When I opened them up I found a spring, a steel seal support with a convex top and a rubber seal that was flat on top and(the top facing the piston) and concave on bottom. The Moss rebuild kit seal was nothing like I have on my car! Does my description describe what you found in your one wheel cylinder? If so, where you able to buy a repair kit that worked?
