This is an ez one...are the rear leaf springs on a 74 1275, the same as the 1500 rear springs? i note that the VB catolog splits them up, but i would be willing to bet they are the same. am i wrong?

according to moss they are the same. just looking for verifacation..

I'm pretty sure that they are different, in # of springs arch and possibly axle location.
 
No! 1098, 1275, & 1500 rear leaf springs are all different.
Especially the 1500 springs which have more of an arch built into them (along with an extra leaf) because of the increased ride hight and weight of the RB's.
 
is the perch spacing the same tho?

All the springs (1/2 leafs) will bolt in any car but the ratings are different.
If you want to lower it, use 1098 springs, if you want to jack it up, use 1500 springs.
US federal specs called for a certain height on the bumpers starting in 1968 so they raised the spring rate to raise the rear end of the car. 1500s had a few hundred extra pounds added with the rubber bumpers and frame mods to carry them so the springs were upped again. But as far as bolting them in, nothing changed.
