Rear springs - BJ8

Yesterday was a busy day. After years of having new springs for my 67 BJ8 sit around, I installed them! I had removed the old ones about two weeks ago and had to get a few small parts. I discovered that when I took the old ones out, they each had two broken leaves. The drivers side may have three since it sat considerably lower. haven't taken the springs apart, only know what fell out when I removed the "U" bolts. The new ones went in fairly well considering the space to work in. The biggest problem was getting the drivers side front bolt out. Had to use a torch and water hose to put the fire out! Old hillside farmers in Vermont will tackle anything. Since I grew up using a slide rule, I'm not familar with all the things this computor can do. I like the funny little faces but don't know how to use them yet.

Good on you Sarge. Most use a saws-all or angle grinder on those stubborn front spring trunions. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif
To use Graemlins simply click on one as you go you will see a word inserted where you were typing with colons on both sides of the word. Once you click submit these become the little smily faces. I hope this makes sense.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif
