well, took a quiet day and spent some time on the car. Had a friend come help and did a major bleed on the brakes - finally a hard brake pedal! (hurray) then the clutch - yes still the clutch. My friend Larry helped me determine the rubber cups in the MC were WAY to tight. Called my local parts guy - he had (another) rebuild kit - did a quick run down. The long and short of which is that the Master Cylinder was shot. New MC - about 2 minutes with the "Duncan Method" of bleeding brakes and we have a working clutch. In other words, the hydraulics are done and once the steering is rehooked up I should be able to drive - maybe as soon as this weekend.
needless to say I am one happy puppy.
