Racing batteries for the blind?

Well, not really, but when I first heard of "Braille" Batteries, the thought did run through my head.

Really neat stuff, and really, really small.

Nice stuff but, Yikes!....I'm looking at those prices!

I use a $30 lawn tractor battery (from Home Depot, Wal-Mart, etc).
They have enough cold crank amps (about 275) for my car.

I buy a new one every two years even if the old one seems OK.

I like the no weight batteries, the CCA are high enough for non charging set up, and at 150ish, that about the same as a Optima but alot lighter.

$150 (in US dollars).

That's just over 100 Euro.

At about 20 Euro, the small garden tractor batteries I've been using work fine and will easily last for two or three years. They are a little bit heavier than the real racing batteries, but I see this as encouragement for *me* to lose a little weight!

I recently bought a 9 pound Braille to replace the marine cased lead acid battery that currently occupies the passenger floor instead of a seat. The lighter 6.5 pound battery was not rated for use at temps below 60 degrees F and around Central NY thats won't cut it.

I don't understand the carbon fiber option....the battery is the same weight as the non-carbon fiber so it's a lot of money to pay for the "cool" look.
