TR6 putting scuttle door on 76 TR6

I have been collecting the parts so I can install a scuttle vent door on my 76 TR6. I now nearly have everything needed and plan on this project as soon as the snow melts in the spring.

I miss this feature that my TR4 had and will be glad to have that gaping hole uncovered when the trees again drop their litter. Funny how a tree can drop things so it goes right into the scuttle vent.

Anyway, it would be a big help to have a photo of how the lever fits and the pivot location. Thanks.

Excellent stuff, I had already went through that thread and it has most of what I need. The one thing is how and where the control lever mounts. Including where it comes out for operator access.

I'm converting my 76 TR6 to have the scuttle vent door as well, I've got the pieces I need on order from TRF currently. I'm doing a lot of non-standard stuff to my TR6, and I'm actually planning on removing the heater box and stock internal air ducting entirely, and turning the scuttle intake into more of the equivalent of the footwell air ducts on my TR7 instead. Open the vent, get a cool breeze in the footwell, close it and keep the water / weather out.

On this same note, has anyone discovered a source for the scuttle vent spring from the earlier models? I can make a pull tab for the vent easy enough, but bending an accurate and fitting hinge/spring would be a pain and probably cheaper to buy if i can find one.
