Anyone got a good source for PosiDriv Bits. Needed for Door Hinge Screws on a Spridget. Sears evidently does not carry any more and I can't find an individual bit in the McMaster Carr Catalog. Thanks,
Hit up a Snap-on or Mac truck in the neighborhood.
Be prepared to pay around $2.00 each but they will last FAR longer than the Harbor Freight ones!

A good Snap-On man will have three different sizes on board. Their screw drivers have a hex at the top to fit an end wrench for extra leverage.
Cheers,
D.
I just picked up a kit from Griot's Garage that seems to have every size of every "tamper proof" bit made including 5 sizes of "Pozi-Drive" for $20. Check it out..
Found the same set of bits as Groit's on sale at local hardware store for $14.98. Didn't need to spend an exorbitant amount for shipping, $8.50 for 10 BD delivery. Anyway, have been soaking with PB Blaster for two days. Before I touch screws will clean up paint from around screw heads with Dremel Tool, will get out the blue flame, try tightening first and then the impact screwdriver to loosen. I did manage to get the DS off last year and only needed to use an easy out on one that I needed to cut the head off as it would not budge. Once I got the door off and the weight off of the screw it came out real easy. I replaced with a thin hex head I found at local hardware store. Looks like a job for Sunday AM.
I can report with a correct Posi Drive Bit and an Impact screwdriver I successfully removed all 6 screws from the Passenger Door without stripping out a one. Wow is it amazing what the proper tools will do. A couple of whacks on the screwdriver with the hammer and each on turned out without a hitch.
I hate screws. anytime I remove a screw it always gets replaced with a hex head bolt. it must be a lot cheaper to use screws than bolts or maybe its to save weight LOL.
