Pocono 1 hour enduro on Saturday, July 21 with EMRA.
SCCA and NASA racing license OK.

I'll be there running #11. Then I'll drag it home and head to the beach at Rehoboth for a week (no internet for next week, I think).

If you are considering entering, be sure to review tech rules such as harness dates, helmet requirements , etc.
Or just come and hang out and take picture (when you sign in at the gate, tell them you are "EMRA Crew")

We will be running the Long Course, which is pretty neat.
See https://www.emraracing.org for more info.

Had a great time at the one-hour at Pocono yesterday.
Pete (orange Sprite) and I had a great race, nose to tail for over thirty miinutes. At one point I "leaned" on him lightly as I passed inside on a turn. And he gave me a "love tap" under harding braking (which crunched his headlight cover and my taillight). Then I ducked in for my mandatory pit stop (we have to get out of the car and then back in).
Pete did a stop a lap later but was slower getting back in so won in class.

My car was rotten under 4000, but I made it 6200+ RPM on the straight almost every lap. That computes to 102 MPH...a new personal best.

Bruce brought his 1275 Mini. The paint was still drying on it from the repairs he did from the bashing at Summit. The Min was quick in practice, but ran into fuel delivery problems (stuck float, we think)....too bad, because it's fun to race with him.

Towards the end, I was having a good duel with Dave in his yellow Elan. He had much better brakes but we were about even otherwise. I got by him when a faster car tried to put the squeeze on us.

On the penultimate lap, a 911 came flying down the back straight and tried to nose me out as I got into a fast right hander. He got very close, but No Dice. I was there first and beside, I was busy trying to catch Dave's Elan. Said 911 went spinning off driver's left behind me....it was an interesting sight in my mirrors. My pal Kevin was flagging at that station and he used a popular, but obscene euphamism to describe how close we were.

....Today I'm heading to Rehoboth Beach, Del. for a week of R&R. No internet (I think).

Here's some pics from yesterday at Pocono (July 21).

This guy (Mario) owns a Stewarts Root Beer Stand, so he painted the car thusly. His "crew" (wife/kids) all wore bowling shirts ths same color as the car.

Bruce relaxes...he should have been fixing his carb.

Dave's Elan. Rolled it last year and then got rear-ended by a Mustang after he fixed it. Very "even" with my car in terms of lap times..

Legend racer. A silly little car and fun to watch. The ALFA in the rear is a 2.0. Quick!

The world's ugliest RX7. He drives it "dirt track style"....fun to watch.
