While driving down a scenic country back road I found a new place to play. I was taking a nice leisure drive at about 40 mph past what appeared to be a field. Out in the middle of this field I saw street lights (that werer on) but no houses and the grass in this field is about three feet high. This seemed strange, but I knew exactly what it was. A few seconds later I passed the entrance to this field.....a nice blacktop road.
I immeadiatly turned around and pulled in. Yep, nice blacktop roads in the middle of a field, no debris, rocks or dirt. The grass is just hight enough so you can't see the LBC from the main road which is now traveling at a spirited pace around the corners of my new found play pen.
It's not the most challenging course, but it is legal, abandoned and avalible. (no fees either)
Basically it's a rectangle, squred off on one end and "circle track" on the other. Comming out of what would be turn four on the circle track side you have a little straight and then a dog leg then another straight to the squared end.
It's got a nice long straigt out of the squared end down to the other. It would be great for a car with more power as it's a little farther than I care to push the car full throttle in it's present condition.
I'm gonna bring my buddy down who bought my '76 280Zand have a play day. No houses close by and both of our cars are quiet. I don't see where it would be a problem for two cars to spend the day there, even if they might be sliding around a little bit.
I've been looking for a place like this and it has a wonderfull scenic drive there and back.
