ugh. My painter didn't mask the interior of a car well enough, lots of overspray. Bad day to be in the car biz.

found this post: https://tinyurl.com/4v9uu8w

tried ZEP's mechanics hand cleaner with pumice.... nada
tried "goof off".... no dice
tried "lift off".... didn't touch it

gonna try this leatherique stuff. any other suggestions?

If it hasn't been too long, mineral spirits may work. Past 24 hours it may be a problem.

Eric -

If you haven't already, you might also try WD-40. Whatever you try, though, be sure to apply some in an area that's hidden, just in case.

Good luck, and let us know what you discover.

...and I think your painter needs to pony up. That's inexcusable.

Mineral Spirit should do the job. There are other opions, but I would be afraid to mention them to you, as they can be quite harmful if not applied correctly.
I am with Doc. I would deliver the car back to his shop and have him clean up the mess!

Happened at MY shop (I'm the co-proprietor of Olde World Restorations). Painter was my partner. Our job to fix it. Not as bad a screw-up as the MGB windshield I done broke couple of summers ago.

Been talking to the guys at leatherique, and... wow!!!!! GREAT customer service, very helpful. Gonna try some paint thinner / mineral spirits followed with their leather cleaner, then probably some dye.

Since you are the painter, I will suggest a little trick. You are on your own on this and BE careful. Use some of the paint reducer on a rag and wipe the surface...watch out on the rag for leather dye transfer. Re-dye any areas that seem light on colour.
I have used this method in the past with excellent results.
