Odd Brake Bracket - Identify?

Anyone know exactly what this bracket is for? The suspension came off an MGA race car. I'm assuming it's some sort of hose of pipe support / guard?

HI,your right-it's to stop any movement of the brake hose union to the caliper,that could possibly loosen the banjo bolt.the rotor looks as though it's seen better days.

So this bracket holds the hose itself? Or is something bolted to it?

The rotor isn't as bad as it looks. It's just been sitting a while. The hub splines however are shot.

It will hold a rubber grommet on the O.D. of the braided stainless flex line, "pinching" the line from movin' about. Grommets like electronic chassis ones for keepin' wires from abrading on the I.D. of holes in boxes. You know what I mean, certes.

May be there was a banjo bolt there. Not a lot of room for aught else.
