Short intro, I own a 1959 Singer Gazelle Series lll convertible. Drive it everywhere during the warm summer months. Nova Scotia is located in eastern Canada. I have driven over the years to; Pittsburg, Maryland, Rhode Island, New Hampshire (2), Maine, Ontario (2), Newfoundland. Driven all roads, it seems, in the three Canadian Maritime Provinces. During some of these trips I have seen my share of flatbeds! Have met wonderful people wherever we go. Car has a 1966 Sunbeam Alpine engine, transmission and rear axle transplanted in it. Have owned the car 17 years and enjoy it immensely.

Wonderful to have you join us, Bluenose. When I was in the Air Force (US) back in the day, I spent some quality time working with our Canadian NORAD partners at a little place called Barrington Station. There was, at the time, a radar station there (not sure if it still exists). I remember NS as one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen and I hope someday to get back there with my wife in tow!

Basil,
Harrington Passage is there, not the radar station though. You’ll probably find many changes in Nova Scotia compared to when you were last here. Not as rural and much more urban. But still picturesque! After this Covid thing is over, consider a visit. I know a good guide and he drives a really cool car. Wink, wink.

It is on my bucket list! I still have an Apple-head doll I picked up there (supposed to be an old man) sitting on top of our grandfather clock. His head has long since turn to stone. Here are some photos from that time.

I just looked at your location. Haven’t been there, yet. California, Nevada, Arizona. Really like that area. Would like to spend a winter monthsin the south west corner of the US one of these years . Although our winters here a very much less severe than they once were.

There are a lot of beautiful sights to see in the Southwest US - especially in Southern Utah and Arizona!

Hello Bluenose

Welcome to the forum.

I have only seen 2 Singers. Both at car shows.

Post some photos of your Singer.

You say that it has a Sunbeam Alpine engine. Do you still have the Singer engine? I understand they had an interesting valve train arangement.

Hey David,
Yes, I do have the original engine and transmission. On # 2 and #3 cylinders in the 1494 Singer engine, the intake and exhaust valves switched positions compared to the Sunbeam 1725 engine.
Some pictures. First is local, 2nd is in Prince Edward Island, 3rd is with Dennis Gauge when the car was on My Classic Car
