New wheels & Tires

I think they're a big improvement. They sure look a lot better than those skinny little 175's that I used to have.

Hi,

I agree. Those look great.

What wheels are those? KN? (Centercaps look like KN)

What size tire are you using? 205/65x15? Any rub at all?

they are Minator 15 x 6 w/BF Goodrich 225 x 60 x 15's. No rub so far but I really havent gotten on it too hard.

I bought them off ebay as a set for under $600 shipped. I'm pleased.

Those look great - did you get them from someone who sells regularly on ebay? $600 sounds like a pretty good deal!

One question, though - do my eyes deceive me or is the tyre rotating the wrong way in the middle picture?

very astute of you! Your eyes do not deceive you. I didnt notice the directional tread until I had put them on, so I need to swap the two rear tires. DOH!

The ebay seller was basically selling off all his TR6 stuff, a car, wheels/tires, triple carb and a bunch of other stuff.....I happened to get a great deal but scheduling his auction to end on New Years eve didnt help him that much.

I believe the paint job was applied with a roller by the PO. Its pretty fugly and obviously not original. Believe it or not the original color was Mimosa.

New paint will be the last project on this car.

Actually, from a distance it doesn't look all that bad. I have no problems with someone using a non-original color. Heck, if Triumph could actually market the TR6 in purple (Damson), I say anything goes. I think the purple idea went along with the bell bottoms and big hair of the 70's.

According to reports The G-force sport is supposed to be one of most grippy street tires (in a 15" size) available, how do they feel and handle?, what are you running for suspension?----those wheels do look very nice.

I haven't done a critical drive yet but they do feel grippy. Anything is an improvement over the former set up pictured below.

I have a stock front end (soon to be rebuilt with a rubber/poly combo) and a rear tube shock (KYB) conversion.

Initially at least, I am very pleased.

A nice dress up is to stick on stock wheel TR6 decals that fit onto the center cap. I put them on my minilites and they look great.

I really wanted to paint my wheels (Mimosa) to match the body and chrome the centers like yours, but it was the first time that my wife said "NO!!!" with any authority. Normally, she keeps out the car projects.

Now I'm glad I didn't. It is not what I expected it to look like. Of course she still hasn't said yes to about $2,500 for wires, but at lat it wasn't that hard NO.

very nice wheels. Nice paint colour too.
This may be a 'blonde question', but how do you insert the pics into the post, rather than as an attachment?

You need to post an img link from a photo storage service in your message where you want the picture to appear. I use Photobucket, but any storage service that gives you an image link will work.
