Hi Basil and membership, I was sitting in high school in the 1970's thinking about the nice sporty convertible cars the brits were sending our way. I kept thinking one day I'm going drive one of those convertibles. Fast forward in 1982 while in college I saw an ad on one of the school's board; 1975 triumph tr-6 for sale. $1,000. I got excited and immediately called the guy selling it. I met with the seller, I test dove it, I bought it and drove it home. By the way I had just gotten married a couple of years before and I almost got divorced when my wife heard what I had done. we were struggling to get through school and barely able to pay our bills. We made it through college and it was time to go to grad school for both of us, so I stored the Triumph in my father in laws barn in rural Louisiana. Finished our schooling five years later and found out that my beautiful car had become a nice nest for most of the field mice in Louisiana and parts of Arkansas. Yes, it needed a completely new electrical harness, new soft top among other things. In 1995 I was finally able to began the car's restoration. It was a "moving retoration as we traveled for work from Louisiana, Texas, Washingto State and presently in Oregon. In the process somehow we acquired two boys who are car guys as well 29 and 36 years old. While in Washingto State I picked up a 1974 tr-6 to add to the troubles! If you must know we survived the British car crisis, my wife and I will celebrate 42 years of marriage this November. El Fin!

Welcome to the BCF, Topaz - great story and congrats on 42 years!
