It was finally nice outside and the snow is starting to melt so I decided to get my spridgets out and take a picture of them together for the first time.

69 Sprite, 66 Midget, and my next project a 61 Innocenti 950 Spyder

Tell us some history of your Italian Spridget where did u find it etc. etc.

The car was originally sold in the south of France and was imported to Mexico while it's owner, a translator the French Olympic team, was there for the 1968 Olympic games in Mexico City. She made friends with a couple brothers from Texas who where in medical school down there. They brought the car back to Texas with them after the games and in exchange for a ticket back to France she gave them the car. The car was immediately entered into Pan-American SCCA events until 1971 when someone threw a rock at the windshield cracking it. It then was put into storage and not touched for the next 30 years. After the car was sold it passed quickly through three more owners in Texas until I bought it and it left Texas probably coming north for the first time. Having spent the majority of its life in Texas and being stored for so long the car is very complete and is not rusted and in fact still wears its original French license plate on the boot.

thanks for its history sometimes the story behind the car is more interesting than the cars themselves some people never no its history and thats a shame its great that u know something of its past it always adds to the patina of the car

The car had very good POs who keep all the receipts, import records, and other documentation, I wish all cars had owners like that.

Look at the effect "provenence" had on the TeamSprite car. Surely part of the 23k was due to the story of the restoration. That car will forever be the "TeamSprite bugeye" and thus unique. The more complete the history esp. period photos of the car the higher the value, if not always the price.
