Moving North, Looking for '66 Hardtop

I looked for 3 years to find the right one. Keep us posted on YOUR progress....

While I like the '64 ->'66 Spridget the best, it is the rarest body form, so finding things like trim, tonneaus, tops, etc, are the hardest to find or most expensive.

Ialso looked for years, both for that particular Midget & for a factory hardtop....found the hardtop first after years of searching.....good luck - keep us appraised.

OK, here's the latest. I found this craigslist ad with a hardtop in it. Problem with this one is that the ad is for a '68 sprite. If you look closely at the picture you'll see that it is, in fact, a hardtop for a 64-67 spridget. the ad mentions that the owner doesn't have a soft-top for it so here's my big idea: i find a soft-top for a '68 from one of you guys and trade it for his hardtop! whatdya think? will he go for it? he's already responded to an email saying he can't sell it separately 'cause he doesn't have a soft-top.

let me know if you can help!

thanks

sean

Well, if you include the frames & handle all shipping, he might go for it.

I heard back from the seller, he's not interested in getting rid of just the top. So much for his ad listing that he's selling parts, huh? I guess the only way to get that one would'a been to buy the whole lot or show up at his place with a nicer, correct for his year, hardtop and trade it for the one I need. Too bad, my search for a soft-top to trade him was going well.

my 2-day old search continues
