Moto Floor

Everyone,

I just got my costco magazine and they show Moto Floor now being carried by Costco. I was wondering if anyone has installed the floor and looking for pro's and con's around it. I was thinking of doing an epoxy but saw this. Any tips? Does it stand up to the slush of ice and snow droppings from cars. I live in the midwest.

Thanks

Tony

I have been looking into some other floor treatment than paint/epoxy/whatever. I have samples from a few flooring suppliers and I REALLY like the Racedeck product. When I do the floors in both of my garages I will be using Racedeck.

I saw a booth at the Monterey Historics where they lay down an image on your floor and then cover it with an epoxy clear coat. Thought it would be cool to put an image of the underside of the car parked there. It would be like having a mirror on the ground. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have seen two designs of this type of flooring.

One uses interlocking tabs like the Moto Floor, the other uses an interlocking full length tongue and groove style on the edges that supposedly is better at keeping liquid from getting under the tiles.
I don't recall where I saw them but I had done a net search a while back, also came up with a few full length roll styles with edges to catch liquid and divert it toward the garage door opening.

You might try searching the net for garage floor cover and see what pops up.

Nice thing about this type of floor is that you can apply it in sections, moving things to lay the floor where epoxy needs a strip clean and several days to set up. Probably 5 times the cost of Epoxy though.

If there were an affordable way to do it I would go with roll or tile, but it would cost $1500 USD to cover my small garage floor.

But then to be completely accurate, you'd have to install a tiny fountain that would squirt oil upwards. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

It wouldn't have to squirt the oil. It would be OK if the oil just oozed from the image.

Yeah, but it still wouldn't be authentic until you put in a mirror image of the stains on the floor! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
