More front suspension questions - need some help

Hi guys, and especially Doug. Doug, when you said you had to really wiggle the wishbone arm off I believe you but I can't see how to do it with the bolt orientation this way. Don't I have to take the bracket off at this point, or is there really room to slide the arm out?

Second question - is the red plug normal in the last bolt hole for mounting the spring pan to the arms?

Maybe I misunderstood you. When you asked if the bracket had to come off, I translated it as breaking away from the A arm. Take it off as one whole peice from the frame.
Sorry for any confusion.
*Note the number of shims on each side and put it back together the same way.

Yes, the red plug should be there. It covers the backside of the stud on the other side.

If my memory serves me right, I think you have to take off the bracket and "yes" the red plug is normal.

Make certain that when you replace the bolt, that you orient the same way, that is, with the head of the bolt against the bracket. In case the nut were to ever accidentally back off, the bolt won't come out completely and result in a suspension failure.

I'll give the removing the brackets a go, counting the shims first, and then remove the arms.

Tom, I just went through this on the GT6, plenty of PB blaster on those studs, also don't know if it matters but those shims appear to be backwards. Great Point Bill about the orientation of the bolt, I figured the DPO just did it to p!ss me off, but then again he didn't even know me yet, so that was unlikely. Once I realized the real point of the positioning, it made perfect sense.
