I know I have been asking a lot of questions and buying up parts (trying my wifes patience) but I am happy to report I have completed my first series of test drives.
After I got my gas tank from Tony it was awhile before I could get installed because of the weather. After I got it installed it was still about 3 days before I could get around to putting in gas and driving "Molly".
Finally the big day arrived. I put in gas charged up the battery crossed my fingers and hit the key. Success!!. "Molly" cranked up and settled into an idle. A little minor tweaking on the carb adjustments and she smoothed out. I took her on a short cruise through the neighborhood and she shifted beautifully and the clutch worked perfectly. Note to self "brakes still have a little air in the lines" I laid the top, down and the sun was warm and the sky was blue, you couldn't have asked for a better day.
The first drives were a complete success. My wife was also quite taken by her first ride. It was the type of experience that automatically brings a smile to your face.
There are still several things I want to do to "Molly" such as suspension work, new tires and wheels and paint and a little body work but I am now satisfied I have a good platform to build on. My most sincere thanks to all who offered advice and encouragement, I couldn't have done it with out you guys./ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif
