MK2 upper radiator hose question

I have a 2.4L RHD MK2.
The upper hose is quite old, and needs replacing.
The number is C21499.
I ordered one out of a good supplier I use regularly, with outlets in England, the US and Europe.
What I got doesn't fit anything on any MK2 I ever saw (smaller diameter by a bunch, and a 90 on one end).

Numerous discussions, they found the parts might have been mis-marked.

So, they sent me the correct unit.
This hose does not have the two ribs on it.
They claim (and I believe them) that the 2.4L did not have the ribs like the 3.4L and 3.8L did.

Any of you smart UK folks know for sure?

Everything I do is to "correct" 30+ years of gas station maintenance, so eventually it will be right.

I worked with the Jag Club of North America on an "appendix" to the Judging Guide on the MK2 to cover the many, many differences in a 2.4L version, and this may be another one.

Thanks.
Dave

I just found out, there is some kind of Jaguar Master Parts Catalog or Viart Book and the guy with it says:
"the parts manual for the 3.4/3.8 lists C28972 for late cars, C27106 for middle and C 21499 for earlier cars and C 12424 for the first cars. C21499 is a straight hose w/o ribs and has a bend in it. "
My J.33 Parts Manual for my 1964 2.4L shows a C21499, which is a straight hose with a dip in the middle.

So, what I have is going on the car this week end.

Is that 21499 hose a straight hose with a "bump" in the middle?

I have a whole box (somewhere) of factory Jag hoses with that shape, but they're marked C 21498. There's also a penciled number C 23801 on some. I've checked that number everywhere and found nothing. Maybe the factory mis-labeled them, missed by one.

Phil.

Yeah, straight with a "bump" in the middle.
All I know is a guy in the Jag Club has this book with pictures next to the part numbers, and the C21499 is this one.

The last one they sent, though....MUST be real early.
Much smaler ID, not quite straight in the straight section, an a 90 on one end.....like a side outlet on the radiator or something.
Bigger than the bypass hose.

There is a number for earlier 2.4L, but it's in the book, out in the shop.
Don't know if they interchange or not.
