There is talk of having the LotO sequel in Elko NV in 2011. Is there anyone here that would consider going to that event location who did not go to LotO?

I could probably do that, isn't there another MG event in Nevada in 2011?

Yup, if the date is close it could be an extended MG vacation.

33 straight hours drive from here - maybe if I start now. seriously, that is likely outside my range which saddens me as it was heartbreaking to miss last summers

The idea is to swing it around the country, so it might be on the east coast if it does indeed go out to the west in 2011.

I totally understand, just not sure if I can make east coast in 2061

One heck of a convoy! 1985 miles from here - 1 way!

A mere 1830 miles for me. So, two hard days or three easy ones.

273 miles for me. I'd make it.

770 miles for me, especially possible if the two events are held on two consecutive weeks! Wow that would be fun!

This looks like an opportunity for someone to break the 21st century single day driving record in a Spridget. I did nearly 1200 miles (1164 according to Google and 1182 documented!) from Gillette Wyoming thru Seatttle and on to Kelso Washington on the way back home from LotO. ..

Any takers?

Elko would be just under 800 miles and one of people who put us up on the way TO LotO, wants us to swing by again to come with us IF it is that close.

I'm not sure about that one, even from KC it's a haul. Are you suggesting we try to do it at the same time as the all register meet that year? Seems like just another place where we would get lost among the Bs. I really enjoyed an all Spridget event, wouldn't want to dilute that experience, but it would make a good double up on a preceding or following weekend to help justify the trip length for some. I suspect that 2011 is going to be a busy year for MGs and LBCs, I'll have to start planning now.

I personnally think you would lose as many from the east as you would gain from the west. There was talk of having it earlier in the summer and that would exclude me and the folks with kid's in school. I'm one of the tiny group that still farms so any time earlier than LoTO I'm busy probably 7 days a week. I've been to Elco--not impressed. Give me Elkhart Lake or maybe at least a little to the east in the Rockie's. KA

No Bill, there is talk of doing it on the weekend prior or after MG2011.

Much of the location is determined by finding someone in the area willing to devote a bunch of time to all the foot work. So, it is looking like NV is becoming a close to a done deal.

Count me out, the thought of driving from the east coast to NV in the summer. no thanks

Bill L, I think your record is quite safe!

I dunno, a bottle of ibuprofen and some ear plugs and I might give it a try.

About 2500 miles for me. And like Trevor, I'm driving the Sprite.
That's what it's all about, cars, especially out little cars that have been restored, should be driven.
If you like little cars but don't like to drive, buy models or toys.
You have 2.5 years to get the Spridget in shape.

And 2.5 years to plan convoy routes.

Just let me know who'll be coming through the Salt Lake City area. We could have quite a convoy for the last leg from here to NV.
