Greeting from the Triumph forum.
Saw this on the Smart car website:
The Smart Roadster made its debut at the 2002 Paris Motor Show. By far the hottest of the Smart series. It was sophisticated, stylish, stimulating and came in two models. The Smart Roadster and the Smart Roadster Coupe.
T he efficient Smart Roadster was Smarter than you might think- sporty and purist at the same time. Everything felt well-built, engineered for fun and attractively styled. This was an exotic car, but at a fair price that was lots of fun to drive.
The final Smart Roadster ran off the production line on November 4, 2005... or did it?
The Smart Roadster (Project Kimber) will live to roar again. The Kimber Group has assembled a team of the very best to revitalize MG sports cars, using technology from the Smart car brand.
Project Kimber has made further progress in turning the defunct Smart Roadster into the new AC. Project Kimber secured the rights to the Smart Roadster and its Roadster Coupe sibling last February following the failure of a more ambitious bid to purchase bankrupt MG Rover from its administrators.
The group is working toward a goal of getting the car sold in North America. It has also bought tooling equipment from Smart parent company DaimlerChrysler that, it says, will allow it to easily and cost-effectively place the two-seater into series production.
Project Kimber intends to redesign and re-engineer the vehicles, and will give them a new look
Or is this the group that failed it's bid?
